Background on the Wolf Pack

Established in 1997, Amoskeag Youth Rugby, has been a Northeast playoff caliber club since its first year of play.

In 1997, the inaugural season, Amoskeag Youth won the New England Division 2 Championship. In 1998 the club was undefeated in league play (6-0) and were semi-finalist's in the New England Division 2 Championships.

1999 was the most successful year to date for the club. The team fielded two full sides (an A side and B side) and went undefeated during the league season.  Amoskeag was defeated by 3 points in the Division 1 Championship game by a strong Greenwich, CT team who went on to the National Championship game.  Amoskeag was also the first team from Northern New England ever to go the Eastern Championships.

In 2002 the team lost in the finals of NERFU tournament and traveled to Maryland where they went 4-0 defeating MARFU powers Hyde, Loyola, Towson and Severn by a combined score of 185-5.

Graduates from the Amoskeag Under 19 squad are already playing first-class college or men's rugby. We have graduates on teams such as Dartmouth, West Point, UNH, Wabash, The U.S. Airforce Academy, Plymouth State College, The University of West Virginia, and the Amoskeag Men's A-side.

One of two high school teams founded by members of the Amoskeag Men's Rugby Club, the under-19 squad is designed to introduce the game of rugby with a strong focus on fundamentals.

Interested players from all schools in NH are encouraged to join the club. Please see the season schedule and contact one of the coaches or the recruiting director  for more information.
